Proverbios 12,1-28
Chapter XII.
Whoso loueth instruction, loueth knowledge: but he that hateth reproofe, is brutish.
A good man obtaineth fauour of the Lord: but a man of wicked deuices will he condemne.
A man shall not bee established by wickednesse: but the [ Pro_10:25.] roote of the righteous shall not be mooued.
[ 1Co_11:7.] A vertuous woman is a crowne to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed, is as rottennesse in his bones.
The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
[Of lying lippes.]
[ Pro_1:11 ; Pro_1:18 .] The words of the wicked are to lie in waite for blood: but the mouth of the vpright shall deliuer them.
[ Psa_37:37 ; Pro_11:21 .] The wicked are ouerthrowen, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
A man shall be commended according to his wisedome: but hee that is [ Hebrew: perverse of heart.] of a peruerse heart, shall be despised.
Hee that is despised and hath a seruant, is better then he that honoureth himselfe, and lacketh bread.
A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the [ Or, bowels.] tender mercies of the wicked are cruell.
[ Pro_28:19 .] Hee that tilleth his land, shall bee satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vaine persons, is void of vnderstanding.
The wicked desireth [ Or, the fortresse.] the net of euill men: but the roote of the righteous yeeldeth fruit.
[ Hebrew: the snare of the wicked is in the transgression of lippes.] [ Pro_18:7 .] The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lippes: but the iust shall come out of trouble.
[ Pro_13:2 .] A man shall bee satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, and the recompence of a mans hands shall bee rendred vnto him.
[ Pro_3:7 .] The way of a foole is right in his owne eyes: but he that hearkeneth vnto counsell, is wise.
A fooles wrath is [ Hebrew: in that day.] presently knowen: but a prudent man couereth shame.
[ Pro_14:5 .] He that speaketh trueth, sheweth foorth righteousnesse: but a false witnesse, deceit.
[ Psa_57:5 ; Psa_59:8 .] There is that speaketh like the pearcings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
The lippe of trueth shall bee established for euer: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine euill: but to the counsellours of peace, is ioy.
There shall no euill happen to the iust: but the wicked shall bee filled with mischiefe.
Lying lippes are abomination to the Lord: but they that deale truely, are his delight.
[ Pro_13:16 ; Pro_15:2 .] A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fooles proclaimeth foolishnesse.
[ Pro_10:4 .] The hand of the diligent shall beare rule: but the [ Or, deceitfull.] slouthfull shall bee vnder tribute.
[The sluggard.]
[ Pro_15:13 .] Heauinesse in the heart of man maketh it stoope: but a good word maketh it glad.
The righteous is more [ Or, abundant.] excellent then his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
The slouthfull man rosteth not that which he tooke in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
In the way of righteousnesse is life, and in the path-way thereof there is no death.
